Job Description - Visitation/Family Support Worker
Flexible, As-Needed Role: We're looking for talented professionals to join our team on an as-needed basis.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Visitation/Family Support Worker to provide assistance and support to families during supervised visitations and other family support services. This part-time or as needed position requires outstanding communication skills, empathy, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. The Visitation/Family Support Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of families, promoting positive parent-child interaction, and facilitating positive change within the family dynamic.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct supervised visitations:
- Monitor visits between parents and children, ensuring compliance with guidelines and policies.
- Observe and document parent-child interactions, reporting any concerns or violations.
- Maintain a neutral and non-judgmental presence throughout the visitation process.
- Implement appropriate interventions or strategies to address conflict or challenging situations.
2. Provide logistical support for visitations:
- Transport child/youth with personal vehicle to and from visits with parent.
- Communicate relevant information to the appropriate parties within the organization.
3. Offer family support services:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to families during visitations and other family support sessions.
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the family's case to ensure cohesive support services.
4. Ensure safety and security:
- Follow protocol to maintain a safe and secure environment during visitations.
- Monitor for any safety concerns or signs of abuse, reporting immediately as required by organizational policies.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including contacting emergency services when necessary.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation regarding visitation sessions.
- Prepare written reports on visitation observations, incidents, or concerns as required.
- Submit all necessary reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, essential for timely and consistent support to families.
- High school diploma/GED required, bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Experience working with families and children, preferably in a social services or child welfare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of child development, parenting skills, and family dynamics.
- Strong observational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual is a plus!
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
- Familiarity with community resources and services.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or as needed based on client requirements.
- Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
Expected hours: At least 1 shift per month as needed

Pay:
- $18 to $19 per hour
